Also called the Southern Live Oak. Known for its’ sprawling lateral limbs and very wide canopy. Does not like continuously wet feet. Sheds a lot of its leaves in the winter for a short period and bears acorns. Important food supply for birds and squirrels. Cold hardy all the way up to north Florida.
